As part of my Blogtober challenge I had scheduled in a guest post from my blogging friend Nicola at Even though I didn’t complete the challenge (you can find out why here) I still wanted to publish this guest post and not let Nicola down. I’m also considering doing a guest post series on what pool carry with them to help with their chronic pain – do get in touch if you’d like to take part.

Hi I’m Nicola, Ali has kindly asked me to do a guest post as part of her Blogtober series. Like Ali I am living with several chronic illnesses including Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue as well as being legally blind. I write over at sharing posts about my illness, disability and life as a parent.

The prompt that I was given for today’s post was “What I Carry Everyday”. Being a mother of a toddler not only do I carry my own bag of things but his as well. I won’t bore you with the contents of what I carry for my son. I will focus on what’s in my bag, the things I cannot leave the house without.

Any spoonie will know that each day is different and unpredictable.  We have to be prepared for every scenario that might happen, however ,maintaining that our bag isn’t too heavy as that might cause problems in itself.

As we are in autumn and winter is fast approaching the important things that I tend to carry with me are, a hat, scarf, gloves, pair of socks in case I get cold when out and about. My prescription sunglasses as we all know how bright that autumn winter sun can be.

I carry a little pouch in my bag that has my pain meds which are co-codamol and ibuprofen.  4head in case I feel a headache coming on and optrex for my eyes as they can sometimes feel dry and sore. I have a bottle of Rescue Remedy. I’m not entirely sure that it helps but it’s there just in case.

I also have a notebook and pen as I never know where inspiration might hit or if I have to remember something very important that I might forget about due to fibro fog.

I’ve normally got a Lip Balm, some mints, my wallet and phone with me as well. Oh and a random nail file.

What do you carry with you everyday?
