You behind the illness (tag)

I saw that I was tagged in this blog post by Nicola at Nicola J Ogston and the title immediately grabbed my attention. My belief is that my pain should not be the focus of my life, so as much as I enjoy writing my blog and sharing my experiences about life with chronic pain, I love that this blog is just about me, and does not mention my pain. This post will help you get to know me a little better, and click here to read Nicola’s You behind the illness post. And thank you for the tag! I’ve tagged a few people below to join in but anyone can take part.

Four placeS I’ve lived

1. Yorkshire, England

2. Gwynedd, Wales

3. Cheshire, England

4. Lancashire, England

Four places I’ve worked

1. In a pub doing general bar work

2. In an office doing all sorts, including dealing with complaints, inputting data, and examining surveillance footage

3. In a conference centre

4. As a taxi driver – this one always surprises people

Four favourite hobbies

1. Blogging – I absolutely love blogging and everything about it (research, planning, design, networking)

2. Reading – I love to get lost in a good book, especially when I’m on holiday

3. Kriss Kross puzzles – I enjoy other puzzles too but I’m best at these ones

4. Adult colouring – I got in to this after my surgery a few years ago; it’s a good form of mindfulness and distraction

Four things I like to watch

1. My two Westies, Milo and Wesley – they are so entertaining

2. Jamie Oliver programmes – I’m a huge fan!

3. A good drama series – such as Luther (BBC), Shooter (Netflix) and Broadchurch (ITV)

4. The sunset – ideally with a clear sky on the coast

Four things I like to read

1. Non-fiction – I love learning about real life events and self-development stuff

2. Blog posts – there are some fascinating posts out there

3. Hen and the Art of Chicken Maintenance is one of favourite books

4. My Twitter feed – I learn something new everyday

Four places I’ve been

1. New York – AMAZING!

2. All over Scotland – I absolutely love it

3. Cape Verde – not much to do there but ideal for a relaxing sun holiday

4. Venice – probably the most beautiful, romantic, relaxing place I’ve been to

Four things I love to eat

1. Pick ‘n’ mix sweets – they always put a smile on my face

2. Roast dinner – and no matter what meat is on the plate, it has to include Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, lots of gravy, and mint sauce or apple sauce (or both)

3. Cereal – I’ll eat most of them but my favourites are Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, Shreddies, and Rice Krispies

4. Popcorn – it has to be sweet (which I was amazed – and shocked – to find out they don’t sell in New York cinemas)

Four favourite things to drink

1. Beer – I can nurse a pint for hours

2. Coffee – I never used to drink coffee, but now I grind my own beans at home, and the best is the first cup of the day

3. Orange juice – I don’t drink too much of this because of the sugar content but I love it

4. Red Bull – again, I don’t drink a lot of it at all, but it is delicious

Four places I want to visit

1. Thailand – I went when I was 9 and would love to go back again with my partner

2. Bora Bora – the dream holiday!

3. Los Angeles – so many places I want to visit in LA.

4. Newcastle – we’ve been wanting to go for the last few years, and we are finally going in September this year

Four bloggers I’d like to tag (if you’ve not been tagged before)

1. Lauren at Milly’s Guide

2. Gemma at Wheelescapades

3. Michelle at Jumbled Brain

4. Claire at Pain Pals

Great post love getting to know more about the blogger behind the blog. They don’t sell sweet popcorn in New York cinemas?? Also I love a roast dinner too and no matter the meat it has to include Yorkshire Puddings and lashings of gravy.

I know – I was shocked. It’s salted popcorn with the option of adding a butter sauce. Not right. And the portion sizes were HUGE!

Ha ha, good point 😃 I do love Thai food though. Really enjoyed a pineapple rice a while back. And I love the massaman curry.

Ah, I am enjoying this tag. It has a good variety of questions.

Loved reading your answers. It’s so nice to get to know fellow bloggers. I did one a few days ago too!

I also love watching Jamie’s shows, and Luther. Can’t stand beer and red bull though, two flavours I just can’t tolerate lol…

It’s such a simple blog to read but you can learn so much about the person behind the blog. I loved filling in my answers. A lot of people I know don’t like red bull, must be an acquired taste lol 😄

This is a lovely post! I love the themes. Out of the four places you’ve visited I’ve only visited Scotland (but that was only Edinburgh for a weekend!) Thankyou for tagging me, I’m really bad at doing posts like these that I get tagged in, but I really like these topics so I will get my thinking cap on!

No pressure to do it if you’d rather not 😊 We went to the Christmas markets in Edinburgh, fab place but absolutely freezing at that time of year x
